Rachel Davis did everything right. College. Army. Two combat deployments. Marriage. Career ladder — first in government, then in corporate America. She checked every box that was handed to her and still walked into rooms feeling like she didn't belong there.
That changed in 2025 when she trekked to Everest Base Camp at 17,600 ft with her father. The trip almost didn't happen — her dad wanted to go, but none of his friends would commit. When he said he'd go alone, Rachel told her husband: “absolutely not.” She'd dreamed of Everest since she was a child.
What she didn't know was that the climb would do more than fulfill a lifelong goal. It would force her to reckon with years of unresolved tension with her father, choose to see him clearly — his struggles, his resilience, the world that shaped him — and decide to love him for who he became instead of carrying the weight of who he wasn't.

Rachel is a former paratrooper, a women's leadership advocate, and a speaker who has appeared on 10+ podcasts in 2025 and on stages across the country.
